So as everyone says at one time or another, it has been along time since we have written anything. We have done quite a few things. Let's see......where to start. So Rob and I have been thinking about buying a truck so that we can hull stuff to the dump, finish the basement, and go hunting. A couple of weekends ago, we set up an appointment to go and see a truck that Rob found online. When we called the guy the afternoon that we were supposed to meet this guy, he said that he sold it the night before. Boy, was Rob mad! He wanted the truck pretty bad and I was a little excited because I wanted to just get busy on what we wanted to do and not have to worry about looking for a truck anymore. So we spend all Saturday morning looking for a new truck. Rob came across a 1972 Chevy that had a camper. We weren't looking for a camper or something that old, but Rob has always liked that style and if the camper was in good shape it would be a bonus. So we called the guy and he said that is wasn't sold and that we could go look at it. The only thing was that it was at his uncles house who lives in Pridis. Where the heck is Pridis? Well it is this little community about 20 minutes southeast of Calgary. So we went. It was a great little place. Beautiful scenery. I think that it is the best kept secret around Calgary. Don't tell anyone! It has a little strip mall, okay maybe you can't call it a mall. It only has about 2 or 3 little shoppes that are in business. It had a cutie little cafe type store that we stopped and had ice cream at. So we went and saw the truck and camper and Rob offered them what they asked and it was ours. One of the funny things is that we took Dewey with us. We had him on a leash and he liked it out there. He walked around and even relieved himself on the man's driveway. I told Rob to get a bag to clean it up, but he just wanted to keep looking at the truck. And wouldn't you know it, Rob was walking to the front of the truck and there he stepped right in Dewey's poop! I warned him. It was pretty funny. So now we have a '72 Chevy and a camper. Taking off the camper is another story, which I will write about later. But last weekend, the 17th or something, Rob and I were invited down south near Frank Slide and Blairmore to come camping and hunting with Tony and Dianne. It was the best weekend that I have had in a long time. We had a camp fire everynight, slept in a trailer, and went quading for 2 days. The only bad part was that our camera battery was dead and of course couldn't take any pictures. Dianna took some for us, I will post them when I see them from her. We saw some of the most amazing scenery when we went quading. I couldn't believe how far we went. Rob and I had to double on a quad, which was fun. He mainly drove but I got to drive a little bit. I only almost rolled it about twice. It was fun though. We went to places that you could only see on a quad or if you had a tracker or something. It was so awesome. I don't really have the words to explain it! I wish that we could have stayed longer, but we have silly jobs to come back to and I guess we need to make money somehow. Then this last weekend, Rob fixed his mom's car all day and then we met Mark and Erica in Shawnessy and she took us out for dinner to Boston Pizza. We usually like that place and have never had any problems. Well that night was a different story. We got there sat down and ordered our food. We were all pretty hungry. Cyndi got a pizza, I got a Ham and Chicken Stromboli sandwich, Mark and Erica shared nachos, and Rob splurged for the Steak sandwich. What a terrible choice on his part. We all got our food and started eating. Rob took one bite and thought that his steak was really chewy. He picked it up to look at it and it was cold and looked the edges looked like they were frozen and cooked really quickly, but not cooked right. He cut the middle and it was so rare! Gross! He is not usually one to say anything, so Erica piped up when the waitress asked how the food was. The waitress looked at the steak and agreed that it wasn't good. She offered to get him another one and he agreed. So we all kept eating and poor Rob who was the most hungry, had to watch us all eat our food while his was cooking. So his steak came out but he still had to wait for his fries. Before he started eating his food he decided to cut it in the middle just to make sure. OH MY GOSH!!!! It was worse than the first one. This one looked like jelly on the inside, it was so rare. I don't think that they even cooked it. So was apoligized but told them to forget his food. Poor Rob was so hungry! All he had was fries to eat. The girl in charge of getting the food out came and apoligized and offered to pay for his meal, his dessert if he wanted one, and a dessert for the rest of us. As well as a gift certificate for next time. So that was ok I guess. By the time we were done it was pretty late, so we all went home and went to bed. About 2 or 3 in the morning I couldn't sleep, I was tossing and turning, my stomach hurt real bad! I got up and threw up and couldn't stop! I had food poisening! Me of all of them, got food poisening! I wasn't a happy camper. At one point, Rob woke me up because I had fallen asleep on the bathroom floor. He felt bad, but I didn't want to bother him while he was sleeping. So I felt terrible all day. Josh called us and wanted to come to High River. It only took me about 2 or 3 hours to get ready and together enough to walk out to the car without throwing or pooping. We went out there and all I could do was sleep. It wasn't fun. But Rob was really good to me. Thanks Rob for talking care of me and helping me feel better! So that wasn't a fun weekend, but the only good thing was that I got the most sleep I have had in years. Only because I was sick. I guess I'd rather loose sleep than be sick. Anyway, that was a long blog! I hope that you didn't give up reading. I will post the pictures from when we went quading as soon as I get them.
